Across the world parents are taking personal responsibility for their child´s/ children´s education for a variety of reasons - to provide children with more opportunities to develop their own talents and abilities, to protect children from bullying in school, to give children with special needs more one on one attention, to provide children with a creative, individually-tailored education, to have more quality time with children etc. Often home-educated children have been found to be exceptionally creative, academically stronger than their peers, and above all refreshingly self-confident.
Home-education is fully legal in Ireland and has special protection under Art. 42 in the Irish Constitution. You do not need to be a qualified teacher to home-educate, and there are curriculum options and supports available.
