Maths and numeracy research

Does your child struggle with Maths?
Have you ever wondered why and what can be done to help?

I am currently conducting PhD research at UCD to try and understand the difficulties children have with Maths. I am looking for volunteers to participate in the study. Volunteers should be aged between 7 and 12/13 years, with no identified specific learning difficulty but who have achieved a sten score of 3,2 or 1 on their last school administered Drumcondra or Sigma-T Maths test. Participants will undertake the Dyslexia Screening Test and The Dyscalculia Screening Test and you will receive full feedback on your child´s performance. The study has full ethical approval from the Ethics Committee at UCD. No identifying criteria will be used in any follow up reporting as all data will be coded to protect confidentiality.

If you are interested and willing to consent to your child taking part please contact me on 0872217852 or email me at jduffy@rathdownschool.ie for full details.
